What Does the working group do?
The Networking Work Group (NWG) keeps civil and military environmental security partners connected, sharing best practices and lessons-learned so duplication of effort is reduced, efficiencies gained, expertise leveraged, and common knowledge shared. The methods pursued by the NWG include advocating for environmental security to become business as usual for regional engagement, strengthening dialogue and information sharing between IPESP members for the community of practice, and enhancing the IPESP Website to link to regional resources.

- Enhance environmental security awareness with regional partners and integrate environmental security considerations into planning for regional engagement activities, including prioritisation of development projects.
- Improve communications and engagement methodology for increasing IPESP membership and work with the Mitigation Working Group to achieve the following goals: recruit at least 10% more members than baseline by end of Year 1; 15% more members than baseline by end of Year 2; and 25% more members than baseline by end of Year 3.
- Enhance the IPESP website to provide a contemporary and professional resource for IPESP members, from policy makers through to environmental practitioners.
What Does The Partnership Do?
The Partnership broadly conceptualizes environmental security as safeguarding against vulnerabilities induced by the abundance or scarcity of environmental assets and/or degradation. The Working Groups implement training and capacity building activities to improve the ability of partner nations to plan for and manage environmental security challenges.
